TREKKING IN NEPAL

I had the most amazing time in Nepal, trekking with my boyfriend through the Annapurna region. We had planned to go to the Everest region but due to 4 days flight delays we couldn’t get there in time. So we headed off to Annapurna which was actually probably a better choice, we walked from sub tropical weather to alpine conditons, trekking up to 6 hours a day and staying in small basic lodges along the way. We had a Sherpa porter guide to help with our bags and show us the way, all in all a mixture of pleasure and pain. I have never seen such fantasic awesome scenery in my life but alot of the trail was very dangerous, on the edges off steeps cliffs, and as I don’t like heights I was pretty terrified at some points. The last two days of the trek were the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, at this point we were very high up, over 4000m so the air was very thin, trying to walk up steep mountains with no air is very difficult. The highest point we got to was 5500m, crossing the highest pass int he world, it was brilliant and very tough going, by the time we got to the top we needed to get back down the other side as it is dangerous to stay so high.We set off at 3am in the dark and trekked a total of 9 hours, by the end of the day I was complelty drained , physically and mentally. By far the best thing I have ever done in my life!
